The DMEA had grown again this year – and had become significantly more expensive for visitors. Nevertheless, this year’s event once again offered an excellent opportunity for professional exchange on all questions relating to IT and the healthcare sector. AI in particular was a dominant topic this year, both in various presentations and technical discussions, as well as in the solutions already presented. In the long term, AI will probably offer the most significant potential in medical diagnosis, even if liability issues and regulation still restrict its widespread use by doctors.

However, a variety of productive solutions with AI were already on display. To name just a few examples: From AI as an aid in converting into structured documents (including speech to text), to intelligent chatbots with avatars that can show emotions via AI, to AI-supported evaluation of imaging procedures. Last but not least, it was a pleasure to meet up with many old contacts again this year and discuss the latest developments. Many thanks for this to all those who contributed!
