Timed to coincide with the upcoming State Parliament elections in Baden-Württemberg on 8th of March, the Economic Council provided an opportunity for dialogue with candidates for electoral district 54 (Villingen-Schwenningen). The Economic Council had invited to this event, which was hosted by Evytra GmbH in VS-Schwenningen, an internationally active company that develops glass surface operating solutions and HMI solutions for many industries, including medical technology and smart lighting and building technology. The dialogue was moderated by section spokesman Dr Ulrich Dietz and the CEO of the hosting company, Pierre Lohrber.
Since the Economic Council is a politically independent, Germany-wide professional association of entrepreneurs, representatives from four political parties were invited to engage in dialogue with the entrepreneurs. The moderators had prepared four topics for discussion, which had repeatedly sparked intense debate at previous events and which, in the participants’ view, are in serious need of change: bureaucracy and regulation as a location factor for small and medium-sized enterprises, innovation, start-up culture and regional cooperation between business, schools, universities and politics, the healthcare system facing challenges with regard to sickness-related absences, and civil security and employees’ sense of security.
