The VDI (The Association of German Engineers) had invited to an event at Offenburg University featuring Hermann Doppler, co-founder and Vice President of the Peter Drucker Society Mannheim. Hermann Doppler, with many years of experience in senior management as plant manager, managing director, CEO and supervisory board member, presented the ‘5 Pillars of Action’, a concept developed by the Peter Drucker Society Mannheim with which Germany can re-establish its industrial competitiveness. His presentation was a sharp analysis of the current difficult economic situation in Germany in view of structural challenges and fundamental, including geopolitical, conditions. His presentation concluded with a slide entitled ‘What is to be done?’, which was followed by a lively discussion.
